Nethanel, son of Zuar, is named as the leader of the sons of Issachar in Numbers.
Nethanel in the Bible is the Numbers tribal leader identified as the son of Zuar and as leader of the sons of Issachar. He is first named from Issachar in Numbers 1:8. The passage in Numbers 2:5 names him as Issachar’s leader and says the tribe of Issachar shall camp.
On the second day, Nethanel son of Zuar presented his offering as Issachar’s leader (Numbers 7:18). His peace-offering gift included oxen, rams, male goats, and year-old male lambs (Numbers 7:23).
