   The Piel forms portray fire or flame in destructive action: in Deuteronomy 32:22 the APB renders fire as having been kindled and as burning through the land, and in Joel 1:19 it renders a flame as having kindled all the trees. In Psalm 106:18 and Psalm 97:3, the surrounding clauses present fire or flame consuming a congregation or enemies; Psalm 104:4 uses a Qal active participle in the description "a flaming fire."
