The attested use concerns land or property held as an allotted claim: territories given to peoples and tribes, a field whose claim and redemption belong to a buyer, and the continuing allotment of Benjamin. Its contribution in Psalm 61:6 is less clear from the translation, which does not visibly reflect the term.

   The absolute form occurs in statements that land is given to a people or tribe: in Deuteronomy 2:19 the APB renders land given to Lot's descendants, and in Joshua 12:7 it renders land assigned to Israel's tribes. In Jeremiah 32:8, the clause concerns Hanamel's field and the buyer's right of claim and redemption; in Judges 21:17, the construct form stands in the concern that Benjamin retain an allotment so that a tribe is not wiped out.

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the land-allotment clauses, the APB commonly uses “possession,” while Judges 21:17 uses “inheritance” and Jeremiah 32:8 speaks of a right joined with redemption. These are renderings of whole clauses; Psalm 61:6 does not make the term's contribution identifiable in the translation.
