   The singular construct forms occur in clauses concerning the covenant container: in 1 Kings 8:6 the APB renders its placement in the inner sanctuary beneath the cherubim, and in 1 Chronicles 15:15 it renders Levites carrying it on their shoulders with poles. In 1 Samuel 4:11, the same construct form is the object said to have been captured.

   In 2 Chronicles 24:10, the singular absolute form occurs in a clause where officials and people bring items and cast them into a chest; the APB renders this container as "the chest."

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the cited sacred settings, the APB regularly renders the term as "ark," often within phrases such as "ark of the covenant of the LORD." In 2 Chronicles 24:10 it renders the container as "chest".
