Nosos denotes bodily afflictions presented as conditions people suffer, are healed from, or are said to be carried.

The term consistently denotes bodily afflictions in settings of healing, suffering, or carrying them: people are brought for healing, healed from such conditions, or these conditions are said to be carried.

   Across the attested clauses, the noun names conditions brought for healing or healed from. In Luke 4:40 the APB renders people with various conditions being brought and healed; in Luke 6:18 it renders people being healed of them; and in Matthew 4:23 it places the singular form in the repeated statement that every such condition is healed among the people. Matthew 8:17 instead places the plural form in the statement that these conditions are carried.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB usually presents the term with “illnesses” or “diseases” in healing and suffering clauses, while Matthew 8:17 says that such conditions are “carried.” These English expressions describe the verse-level presentation rather than fixed individual renderings.
