Ezion-geber is a city on the shore of the Red Sea in the land of Edom, near Eloth, according to 1 Kings 9:26. It is named in at least 7 verses across 4 books. One Numbers passage says that they camped at Ezion-geber (Numbers 33:35); another says that they set out from it and camped in the wilderness of Zin (Numbers 33:36). Deuteronomy names it with Elath as the speakers turned toward the wilderness of Moab (Deuteronomy 2:8). Solomon built a fleet there, and Jehoshaphat's ships were broken there (1 Kings 9:26; 1 Kings 22:48).
