A biblical figure described as an archangel in Jude and as a ruler in Daniel.
Michael the Archangel is a biblical figure whom Daniel calls one of the first rulers and Jude identifies as an archangel (Daniel 10:13; Jude 1:9). In Daniel, Michael comes to help and is called “your ruler”; he is also described as standing over the sons of Daniel’s people (Daniel 10:13; Daniel 10:21; Daniel 12:1).
Jude says that Michael contended with the devil over Moses’ body without pronouncing a blasphemous judgment, saying, “The Lord rebuke you” (Jude 1:9). Revelation depicts Michael and his angels fighting the dragon and its angels in heaven (Revelation 12:7).
