Kohath is a biblical person named as one of Levi’s sons, alongside Gershon and Merari (Genesis 46:11). The same list appears in Exodus 6:16 and Numbers 3:17.
Numbers names Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel as Kohath’s sons (Numbers 3:19); it also states that Kohath was the father of Amram (Numbers 26:58). Joshua refers to the remaining sons of Kohath, who received ten cities by lot from Ephraim, Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh (Joshua 21:5). Kohath is named in at least 6 verses across 4 books.
