Jeremiah

Jeremiah in the Bible is the person identified with Nehemiah, first named in a list at Nehemiah 10:2. His name occurs in at least 4 verses in 1 book, all in Nehemiah. A passage listing priests and Levites who ascended with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua includes Jeremiah alongside Seraiah and Ezra (Nehemiah 12:1). In the days of Joiakim, Hananiah is named “for Jeremiah” among priestly family heads (Nehemiah 12:12). Jeremiah is also listed among those present with Judah, Benjamin, and Shemaiah (Nehemiah 12:34).
