Gershom is named as a son of Moses and as the father of Shebuel.

Gershom in the Bible is a son of Moses, first named when his birth is connected with Moses’s statement, “I have been a sojourner in a foreign land” (Exodus 2:22). Exodus again names Gershom as one of Moses’s two sons (Exodus 18:3).

In 1 Chronicles, Gershom is listed among Moses’s sons, and Shebuel is named as Gershom’s son (1 Chronicles 23:15; 1 Chronicles 23:16). Another passage identifies Shebuel as the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, and says that Shebuel was leader over the treasuries (1 Chronicles 26:24).
