rav describes greatness in size, status, prominence, or magnitude across people, objects, and events.

The attested uses describe greatness or elevated magnitude in varied settings: a striking image, a mountain filling the earth, God, a feast, a sea, and persons or offices presented with prominence.

1. Greatness in scale or prominence · dominant

   The adjective marks what is presented as notably great or prominent. In Daniel 2:31 the APB renders the image as “great,” in Daniel 2:35 it renders the stone’s result as “a great mountain,” and in Daniel 5:1 it describes the king’s feast as “a great feast.” The same usage extends to the “great sea” in Daniel 7:2 and to God in Daniel 2:45 and Ezra 5:8.

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the clearer clauses, the APB commonly uses “great,” including for the image, mountain, God, feast, sea, and king. Its wording cannot identify a precise English equivalent in every occurrence.
