qid.mah marks a location as lying in an eastern direction relative to a named place or region.

The attested use marks spatial orientation: a place, river, camp, or valley is located east of a stated reference point. All four occurrences show the same directional relation.

   The construct noun marks a location in relation to another place: in Genesis 2:14 the APB renders a river as going "east of Assyria," and in Genesis 4:16 it renders Nod as "east of Eden." The same construction locates the Philistine camp in 1 Samuel 13:5 and a burial valley in Ezekiel 39:11; the APB renders these clauses "east of Beth-aven" and "east of the sea."
