1. Experiencing thirst or lacking drink · dominant

   The form occurs where people lack water or seek something to drink: in Exodus 17:3 the APB renders the people as thirsting for water, and in Judges 4:19 a speaker asks for water because he is thirsty. In Job 24:11 those treading winepresses “suffer thirst,” while Isaiah 49:10 and Isaiah 65:13 contrast people who will not thirst with those who will thirst.

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the clearer clauses, the APB presents the condition with “thirsted for water,” “thirsty,” “suffer thirst,” and statements that people will or will not thirst. Its whole-verse translation does not make the term's contribution equally identifiable in Psalm 42:3 and Psalm 63:2.
