   In Esther 3:7 the singular noun occurs in the account of a lot cast before Haman across days and months. In Esther 9:24 the APB renders the clause "had cast Pur—that is, the lot" in connection with Haman's plan against the Jews.

   In Esther 9:26 the proper form names the days called Purim after Pur. Esther 9:28, Esther 9:29, Esther 9:31, and Esther 9:32 place the proper form in clauses about the days' continuing observance, an authoritative letter, appointed times, and their being written in a book.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB explicitly calls Pur "the lot" in Esther 9:24 and presents Purim as the name of days in Esther 9:26 and later observance clauses. Its English wording is only a guide to the verses' presentation.
