   In Joshua 10:34 the proper noun marks the place to which Joshua and Israel pass from Lachish, where the APB renders that they “encamped against her, and fought against her.” Joshua 10:36 names it as the point of departure for Hebron, while Joshua 15:39 places it in a list with Lachish and Bozkath; the same name also identifies a king in the formula “king of Eglon” in Joshua 10:23.

2. The king of Moab in Judges · common

   In Judges 3:12 the proper noun identifies the king of Moab whom the LORD strengthens against Israel. Judges 3:14 and Judges 3:15 place him in Israel’s period of service and in Ehud’s delivery of an offering, and Judges 3:17 again names him as the recipient of that offering.
