In Genesis 34:12, the absolute form occurs alongside a bride price in the request to make both very great before receiving the maiden as a wife. In Proverbs 18:16, the construct form is linked with making room for a man and bringing him before the great; Proverbs 19:6 places it in seeking a noble's favor, and Proverbs 21:14 describes a concealed giving that subdues anger.

Offering assigned to a household · rare
In Numbers 18:11, the construct form occurs in the clause concerning the contribution of Israel's offerings, which is given to the recipient, his sons, and his daughters for household use.
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses “gift” in the personal-giving clauses and speaks of “the contribution of their gift” in Numbers 18:11. Its “bribe” in Proverbs 21:14 occurs in a separate phrase of the verse, so the translation is not a gloss of the term.
