Hosios describes sacred status as applied to persons, hands, and things set within worship, judgment, and preservation from decay.

The attested use describes sacred status, most visibly in descriptions of a high priest, the Lord, and the Holy One; the same description also occurs with hands raised in prayer and with things promised to David.

1. Sacred status in persons and sacred contexts · dominant

   In Hebrews 7:26, the nominative singular masculine form occurs among the high priest's descriptions; the APB renders the sequence “holy, innocent, undefiled.” The same form is used of the Lord in Revelation 15:4 and of “the sacred one” in Revelation 16:5, while the accusative singular masculine form stands in the preservation-from-corruption statements of Acts 2:27 and Acts 13:35, where the APB renders “Holy One.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB variously uses “holy,” “sacred,” and “Holy One,” including “holy hands” and “the sacred things of David.” These are renderings within whole-verse translations rather than token-by-token alignments.
