Epanerchomai describes coming back after an absence, whether to settle an obligation or to resume authority.

The two occurrences describe coming back after an absence: one return is anticipated for repayment, and the other follows the receipt of kingship before servants are summoned.

1. Coming back after an absence · dominant

   Both infinitival forms refer to a person's coming back. In Luke 10:35 the present middle infinitive occurs in the promise to repay further expense; the APB renders the clause "when I return." In Luke 19:15 the aorist active infinitive occurs after receipt of kingship and before the slaves are called; the APB renders "When he returned after receiving the kingdom."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents both clauses with "return" or "returned,". In Luke 10:35 the return frames repayment, while in Luke 19:15 it precedes calling the slaves.
