In 2 Timothy 2:15, the accusative singular occurs in the charge to present oneself to God as an unashamed worker; in James 1:12, the nominative singular appears after enduring temptation, while Romans 16:10 identifies Apelles in Christ.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB commonly uses “approved” in the contexts of evident standing, the Lord's commendation, prayer, and presentation to God.
