Unity of the Church
Biblical passages call believers toward shared peace, common purpose, and life together as one body.
The Bible speaks of unity of the church by calling believers to reject divisions and be united in mind and resolution (1 Corinthians 1:10). It urges them to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3). Another passage names one body and one Spirit, together with one hope of calling (Ephesians 4:4).
Christ is described as making both one and breaking down hostility (Ephesians 2:14), and as reconciling both in one body to God through the cross (Ephesians 2:16). Believers are also urged to stand firm in one spirit and strive together for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27).
