Biblical Theology
Themes
New-birth language includes being brought forth by the word of truth and born again through God’s abiding word.
The Bible says New Birth is described as being brought forth by the word of truth (James 1:18) and as being born again through the living and abiding word of God (1 Peter 1:23). Another passage speaks of being begotten toward a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3).
In 1 John, practicing righteousness is said of everyone born of God (1 John 2:29). Everyone who loves is said to have been begotten of God (1 John 4:7), while everyone trusting that Jesus is the Christ is said to have been begotten of God (1 John 5:1).
