Chilion in the Bible is a son of Elimelech and Naomi and the brother of Mahlon, first named in Ruth. The passage identifies the family as Ephrathites from Bethlehem in Judah and says they entered Moab and remained there (Ruth 1:2). It later reports that both Mahlon and Chilion died, leaving Naomi without her two children and husband (Ruth 1:5). Boaz also names possessions belonging to Chilion and Mahlon among what he bought from Naomi (Ruth 4:9).
