Bakbukiah is a person named in Nehemiah, first listed as second among a group called “his brothers” beside Mattaniah in an account of thanksgiving prayer (Nehemiah 11:17). A passage also names Bakbukiah with Unni and their brothers as standing “for the charges” (Nehemiah 12:9). Another list includes him among keepers and gatekeepers maintaining custody in the storehouses of the gates (Nehemiah 12:25). His name occurs in at least 3 verses, all in Nehemiah.
