sha.vat describes observing a sabbath, whether by the people or by the land.

The two attestations describe sabbath observance: people are addressed in a complete-rest observance, and the land is said to observe a sabbath.

1. Observing a sabbath rest · dominant

   In Leviticus 23:32, the Qal imperfect second masculine plural occurs in the instruction concerning complete rest and afflicting the souls; the APB renders the closing clause, “you shall keep your sabbath.” In Leviticus 25:2, the Qal sequential perfect third feminine singular is predicated of the land; the APB renders, “the land shall observe a sabbath to the LORD.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the observance with “keep your sabbath” in Leviticus 23:32 and “the land shall observe a sabbath” in Leviticus 25:2. These phrases indicate the clauses' presentation rather than fixed English equivalents.
