pakh is a small oil container carried or used to pour oil on a person's head.

The attested use is a container associated with oil in anointing scenes: it is taken in hand and its oil is poured on a person's head.

1. Oil container used for anointing · dominant

   All three occurrences show the construct noun in an oil phrase. In 1 Samuel 10:1 the APB renders Samuel taking a flask of oil and pouring it on a head; in 2 Kings 9:1 and 2 Kings 9:3 it renders the oil container as something carried in hand and then used to pour oil on a head.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the container as a "flask of oil" in 1 Samuel 10:1 and as a "vial of oil" in 2 Kings 9:1 and 2 Kings 9:3. These are translation renderings of the clauses rather than definitions.
