The clearest attested use places pe.ga in Ecclesiastes’ statement that time and chance meet all people despite differing abilities; its contribution to the construction clause in 1 Kings is not isolated by the APB translation.

   In Ecclesiastes 9:11, the masculine singular absolute noun occurs in the concluding contrast to speed, strength, wisdom, intelligence, and knowledge; the APB renders the clause, “but time and chance meet them all.” In 1 Kings 5:18, the same noun form occurs in a clause about builders preparing timber and stones, but the APB does not isolate its contribution.
