   The masculine and feminine gentilic forms identify people as Hebrew in varied settings: in Exodus 2:11 the APB renders an Egyptian striking “a Hebrew,” while Exodus 1:16 speaks of “the Hebrew women.” The plural identifies a collective group in Exodus 3:18, where the clause names “the God of the Hebrews,” and in 1 Samuel 13:7, where some of that group cross the Jordan.
