lib.bev refers to preparing cakes in the paired actions requested of Tamar and then carried out by her.

The two attestations describe preparing cakes: Amnon requests that Tamar do so before his eyes, and Tamar subsequently does so after kneading dough.

   Both forms occur in the cake-preparation scene. In 2 Samuel 13:6, the Piel imperfect is part of Amnon's request that Tamar come and prepare two cakes before his eyes; the APB renders the clause “Let my sister Tamar come and bake two cakes before my eyes.” In 2 Samuel 13:8, the Piel sequential imperfect describes Tamar's subsequent action after taking and kneading the dough; the APB renders that she “baked cakes before his eyes.”
