chu.sham is the proper name of the ruler who succeeds Jobab and is later succeeded by Hadad.

The attested forms are used as a proper name in succession notices: the named person takes over after Jobab’s death and is then followed by Hadad after his own death.

   All four occurrences are tagged Noun · Proper. In Genesis 36:34 and 1 Chronicles 1:45, the APB renders the clause "Husham from the land of the Temanite reigned in his place" after Jobab died; in Genesis 36:35 and 1 Chronicles 1:46, it renders "Husham died" before Hadad reigns in his place.

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the cited verses, the APB presents the proper name as "Husham" in paired succession notices. The verse is read as a whole, but it places the name as the incoming ruler after Jobab and the deceased predecessor before Hadad.
