The attested use chiefly concerns accumulating or keeping possessions, profit, or even violence in reserve; a single Hiphil occurrence stands in a clause about placing people in charge of storehouses.

   The Qal perfect in 2 Kings 20:17 and Isaiah 39:6 describes what the fathers had done with everything in the house before it was to be carried to Babylon; in both verses the APB renders the clause "your fathers stored up until this day." In Amos 3:10, the Qal active participle identifies those accumulating "violence and robbery in their citadels," while Isaiah 23:18 uses the Niphal imperfect in the statement that profit and wages "will not be stored up."

2. Occurrence in a storehouse appointment clause · rare

   In Nehemiah 13:13, the Hiphil sequential imperfect occurs in the clause naming men associated with the storehouses; the APB renders the verse, "I put Shelemiah the priest, Zadok the scribe, and Pedaiah the Levite in charge of the storehouses." The precise contribution of this form within that the verse is read as a whole.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses "stored up" in 2 Kings 20:17 and Isaiah 39:6, "store up" in Amos 3:10, and "stored up" and "hoarded" in Isaiah 23:18. In Nehemiah 13:13 it presents an appointment "in charge of the storehouses".
