Philippi
Philippoi identifies the city named as a destination, place of residence, departure point, and setting for prior mistreatment.
The term consistently names a city: travelers go toward it in Acts 16:12, sail from it in Acts 20:6, believers are described as being there in Philippians 1:1, and prior suffering is located there in 1 Thessalonians 2:2.

Across the forms, the term marks the city involved in several concrete relations: in Acts 16:12 the APB renders travel “toward Philippi,” and in Acts 20:6 it renders sailing “from Philippi.” In Philippians 1:1 the APB describes holy ones “who are in Philippi,” while 1 Thessalonians 2:2 places prior mistreatment “in Philippi.”
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the term as “Philippi” in location and movement phrases: “in Philippi,” “toward Philippi,” and “from Philippi.” These renderings reflect the verse-level clauses.
