The attested use shows the verb for directions given by an authority and followed in action: disciples act and prepare as directed, and a field is given as the Lord directed.

   All three occurrences use the third-person singular aorist active indicative form in clauses of conformity to prior direction. In Matthew 21:6 the APB renders that the disciples did as Jesus had directed them; in Matthew 26:19 they do so and prepare the Passover lamb; in Matthew 27:10 a field is given “as the Lord directed me.”
