In Revelation 1:11, the accusative plural form occurs in the list of seven assemblies to which the scroll is to be sent; the APB renders the list with “to Sardis.” In Revelation 3:1 and Revelation 3:4, the dative plural form marks the setting of “the assembly in Sardis” and of a few names “in Sardis.”
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the term as “Sardis” in the destination list of Revelation 1:11 and in location phrases in Revelation 3:1 and Revelation 3:4. These renderings confirm the verse-level place reference rather than a separate lexical nuance.
