prora denotes the forward end of a ship, where anchors are proposed and where the vessel becomes stuck.

The two occurrences refer to the forward part of a ship: in Acts 27:30 it is the stated location for proposed anchors, and in Acts 27:41 it is the part that becomes fixed when the ship runs aground.

   The genitive singular form in Acts 27:30 occurs in the pretext of stretching out anchors from that part of the vessel; the APB renders the clause "stretch out anchors from the bow." The nominative singular form in Acts 27:41 identifies the part that "stuck fast and remained immovable" after the ship struck a sandbar.
