   In John 6:22 the nominative singular identifies the one vessel from which the disciples had departed, while the nominative and accusative plurals in John 6:23 and John 6:24 occur as other vessels arrive and as the crowd enters them for Capernaum. In John 21:8 the dative singular occurs as the other disciples come toward land dragging a net, and Mark 3:9 names a vessel to remain with Jesus because of the crowd; the APB renders these clauses with “small boat” or “small boats.”
