Messias identifies the expected coming figure whom people say they have found and who will report all things.

The two verses use the term for the expected figure: in one statement he has been found, and in another he is anticipated as coming and reporting all things.

   In John 1:41, the accusative singular form occurs in the statement that this figure has been found; the APB renders the clause "We have found the Messiah (which means Christ)." In John 4:25, the nominative singular form names the figure the woman expects to come and "report all things"; the APB renders "Messiah is coming, the one called Christ."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB explicitly uses "Messiah" in both verses and adds "Christ" in parenthetical or appositional wording. That added wording does not by itself define the term.
