   In Mark 3:34, the adverb occurs with looking around at those seated around him. In Revelation 4:6, Revelation 5:11, and Revelation 7:11, the preposition marks living creatures or angels positioned around the throne; the APB renders these clauses with "around the throne" or "surrounding the throne."

   In Luke 9:12 and Mark 6:36, the adverb occurs in instructions to go into nearby villages and fields for lodging, food, or purchase. Mark 6:6 places the teaching activity among villages, and Romans 15:19 describes a region extending from Jerusalem toward Illyricum; the APB renders these settings as "surrounding villages," "surrounding fields," and "the surrounding region."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the spatial relation with "around" and "surrounding," and presents the locality examples as "surrounding villages," "surrounding fields," and "the surrounding region." Because the APB is a whole-verse translation, these renderings confirm the clauses' spatial setting without fixing a separate English equivalent in every instance.
