Keramion denotes the vessel a man carries with water as a sign to be followed into the city.

The attested use denotes a vessel carried with water by a man whom the disciples are told to follow, in parallel city-entry instructions in Luke 22:10 and Mark 14:13.

   The accusative singular neuter form occurs in the instruction that a man carrying water will meet the disciples and that they should follow him. In Luke 22:10 the APB renders the clause “a man carrying a clay jar of water will meet you”; in Mark 14:13 it renders “a man carrying a jar of water will meet you.”
