The attested use concerns putting on clothing: Acts 12:8 gives an instruction directed to the person to dress himself, while John 21:18 contrasts earlier self-dressing with another person dressing him.

   In Acts 12:8, the aorist middle singular form occurs in the angel's instruction, and the APB renders the clause "Dress yourself and put on your sandals." In John 21:18, the forms occur in a contrast between dressing oneself when younger and another dressing the person when older; the APB renders "you dressed yourself" and "another will dress you."
