emphanes describes becoming openly known or disclosed, in resurrection and in being found by those who did not seek.

The two occurrences show becoming disclosed or openly known: of the one whom God raised in Acts 10:40 and of the speaker who was found by people not seeking or questioning him in Romans 10:20.

Senses in use

  1. Becoming openly known · dominant

In Acts 10:40, the accusative singular masculine form occurs in the statement that God raised “This one” and gave him to become revealed. In Romans 10:20, the nominative singular masculine form occurs in the first-person statement, “I became revealed,” alongside being found by those who do not seek or question.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses “revealed” in both clauses: “gave him to become revealed” in Acts 10:40 and “I became revealed” in Romans 10:20. These renderings confirm the clauses' presentation without isolating every grammatical contribution of the term.
