Dromos denotes a course to be completed, used of finishing a personal course or race-like task.

The attested uses present a course that a person completes: Paul speaks of finishing his course alongside his ministry in Acts 20:24 and of having finished the race in 2 Timothy 4:7, while John is described as completing his course in Acts 13:25.

1. A course brought to completion · dominant

   The accusative singular form occurs with completing or finishing language in all three verses. In Acts 20:24 the APB renders the clause "if only I may finish my course and the ministry"; in 2 Timothy 4:7 it renders "I have finished the race"; and in Acts 13:25 John is "completing his course."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the term as "course" in Acts 13:25 and Acts 20:24 and as "race" in 2 Timothy 4:7. These are verse-level renderings rather than separate lexical senses.
