The two occurrences show becoming old both of a person in John 21:18 and of something becoming obsolete and ready to disappear in Hebrews 8:13.

1. Becoming old · dominant

   In John 21:18, the second-person aorist subjunctive occurs in the contrast between being younger and the time when the person will stretch out his hands; the APB renders the clause “when you grow old.” In Hebrews 8:13, the present active participle describes what is becoming obsolete and ready to disappear; the APB renders it “growing old.”
