   In Luke 17:24, the present active participle occurs in the comparison of lightning moving from one side of the sky to the other; the APB renders the clause “the lightning flashes and shines.” In Luke 24:4, the same participial form is associated with the clothing of two men standing beside the women; the APB renders them as being in “flashing clothing.”
