Alpha is used in Revelation as the first term in paired self-descriptions with Omega, beginning, and end.

Alpha occurs in a single repeated use: a nominative singular neuter term in self-descriptions paired with Omega and further framed by “the beginning and the end” or “the first and the last.”

1. Paired designation in self-description · dominant

   In Revelation 1:8, the nominative singular neuter form occurs in “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” followed by “the one who is and who was and who is coming.” In Revelation 21:6 and Revelation 22:13, the APB renders the same paired declaration with the further phrases “the beginning and the end” and, in Revelation 22:13, “the first and the last.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across all three verses, the APB retains “Alpha” in the repeated phrase “the Alpha and the Omega.” The verse is read as a whole, but it also places this phrase beside “the beginning and the end” in Revelation 21:6 and Revelation 22:13.
