Suffering and Glory

The Bible says that “momentary light affliction” is producing an eternal weight of glory beyond comparison 2 Corinthians 4:17. Hebrews describes Jesus as suffering death and being crowned with glory and honor Hebrews 2:9. Philippians speaks of sharing Christ’s sufferings and of a body conformed to the body of his glory Philippians 3:10; Philippians 3:21. The word or idea recurs in at least 13 verses across 7 books and 10 episodes, including calls into God’s kingdom and glory 1 Thessalonians 2:12 and suffering for the kingdom of God 2 Thessalonians 1:5.
