Exile and Restoration

In the Bible, the LORD says, “I will scatter you among the nations,” and describes land and cities becoming desolate Leviticus 26:33. The same chapter says that the land will accept its Sabbaths while the people are in their enemies’ land Leviticus 26:34, and that God will remember covenants with Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham and remember the land Leviticus 26:42. Deuteronomy speaks of returning these words to the heart while banished Deuteronomy 30:1. The word or idea recurs in at least 7 verses across 3 books and 4 episodes.
