In 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles, Solomon gathers Israel’s leaders to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Zion to Jerusalem.
The Bible says that Solomon assembled Israel’s elders, tribal heads, and family leaders in Jerusalem to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from the city of David, identified as Zion (1 Kings 8:1; 2 Chronicles 5:2). The word or idea recurs in at least 3 verses across 2 books and 2 episodes. In the account in 1 Kings, priests then brought the ark into the inner sanctuary of the house, into the most holy place beneath the cherubim’s wings (1 Kings 8:6).
