Third Captain of Fifty is the 2 Kings commander who came before Elijah with his fifty, bowed on his knees, and pleaded that their lives be precious in Elijah’s eyes (2 Kings 1:13). Also written “third ruler of the fifty,” he is named in at least 1 verse, in 2 Kings alone.
