Sheshbazzar

Sheshbazzar in the Bible is the Ezra figure to whom Cyrus’s treasurer counted out vessels, with the passage calling him “the prince of Judah” (Ezra 1:8). Ezra says that he brought the gold and silver vessels up from Babylon to Jerusalem with the captivity (Ezra 1:11). A later account states that Cyrus gave him vessels from the temple in Babylon and appointed him governor (Ezra 5:14). It also says that Sheshbazzar laid the foundations of the house of God in Jerusalem; the work remained unfinished at the time described (Ezra 5:16). He is named in at least 4 verses, all in Ezra.
