Shemaiah son of Mattaniah is a Nehemiah person named in the ancestry of Zechariah in Nehemiah 12:35. The verse identifies him as the son of Mattaniah and the father of Jonathan, through whom the line reaches Zechariah. In that verse, Zechariah is introduced as coming “from the sons of the priests with trumpets,” and the lineage names Shemaiah within that sequence. Shemaiah is named in at least one verse, all in Nehemiah.
